The Department of Athletic Training provides an entry-level athletic training education.

The Department of Athletic Training offers an undergraduate major in health and wellness, a minor in exercise science and fitness, and is seeking approval to award the Master of Athletic Training degree.  We also offer physical activity classes for the general student population.

Our department incorporates evidence based practice, hands-on learning, outreach to the Cincinnati community, a commitment to the whole person, and an interdisciplinary liberal arts foundation so that students may enhance the lives of others.  Wellness includes creative, emotional, environmental, intellectual, occupational, physical, social, and spiritual dimensions.  Understanding health and the factors that affect it requires exploring areas in addition to cellular and chemical aspects of disease.

The undergraduate Athletic Training Program at Mount St. Joseph University is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).  The program is currently applying to the CAATE for a change in level of degree. The AT program is no longer accepting undergraduate students to this program. Students interested in the career potential and program outcomes listed here, should apply to the Health and Wellness program.  View the undergraduate AT program’s Board of Certification pass rate results.
